Job description

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR…
 
Ideally suitable candidates will have an excellent understanding of geotechnics and related disciplines. They will be comfortable in working in design teams on technically challenging projects, and will be able to identify and deliver value engineering solutions to our clients. They will be capable of delivering high-quality engineering solutions that exceed client expectations, within budget and program. The ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, municipality authorities and project stakeholders is crucial.
 
Key Accountabilities:
 
  • Working as member of a project team to deliver the highest quality services to all clients
  • Ensures all designs are in accordance with set standards and all recommendations are robust, value-based and commissionable
  • Ensures that designs are delivered on time to our clients and that the design fulfils the client’s brief
  • Inspects construction work and ensures that all aspects of design are correctly implemented
  • Monitors processes and results and ensure that they comply with relevant safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to make appropriate judgements and decisions and exercise initiative

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2.1 Honours Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or similar;
  • Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or related subject, is desirable for this positions
  • Demonstrable experience in an engineering role is desirable for this position
  • Has proven technical knowledge of specific subject areas pertaining to geotechnical works and proven ability to use relevant software
  • Experienced & confident with report writing and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Can communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships and always aiming to exceeding client expectations
  • Adheres to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health and Safety Regulations
  • Represent and promote Byrne Looby Partners in a professional manner and develop effective working relationships with clients and potential clients
  • Is committed to Continued Professional Development
