Job description
Identify
opportunities for Process optimization improvements, energy
optimization, investigate & support developments and improvements
identified by others, all as a basis for effective and efficient
implementation within accountable budgets.
Provide guidance, where appropriate, to fellow professionals by acting as the focus of technical reference in the specialism to support, maintain and develop the achievement of professional standards.
Ensure timely release of routing technical reports by team members
Ensure that all specialized professional know-how is kept up to date in order to ensure latest information is available for use by the team.
Independently performs broad assignments having business impact or may guide/ coordinate the contribution of others to such assignments.
Uses advanced problem solving tools and techniques and balances multiple considerations (e.g. economic, operating, maintenance, technical) in solving problems that have business impact.
Uses a combination of standard procedures and methods and modifies them if necessary to accommodate complex design challenges.
Coordinates complex design work conducted by internal/ external engineering resources and reviews it for fit with design intent.
Perform tasks in more than one area of responsibility to ensure broad understanding and knowledge in various roles in the Technical Services Department
Apply and assist others observe relevant HSE policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Analyses data and identifies opportunities to optimize operations within and across process units or equipment.
Provides advice on critical or complex manufacturing issues affecting more than one process unit.
Evaluates, develops and implements new engineering methods, tools, processes and software for use in operational/plant support.
Coaches others on best practice application of project management systems/ processes/ techniques and leads efforts to improve them.
Preparation and review of FEED package
Process calculations and preparation of reports for mass and heat calculations, etc.
Detailed engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation and challenge of standards.
Providing trouble shoot services for operations.
Preparation of technical specifications & purchase order specifications.
Demonstrating ability in resolving technical issues and design conformance to international and Orpic standards
contract quality management system and ensure these requirements are met.
Preparation of preliminary documents for tender submissions, scope of work.
Act as lead discipline engineer and manage discipline engineering / design teams of designers and engineers. Stand in for discipline head as appropriate
Involve in department omanization target and train the new comers in the department.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum qualification required is a university degree in Chemical Engineering.
Experience required is 10 - 15 years in an oil and gas or petrochemical industry
