Job description

Our client an Oil &Gas Exploration Company has a joint venture with US and Japanese Oil &Gas giants has above openings for their ongoing gas processing plant project.

Job

Job purpose & Scope:

  • Will ensure that EPC-1 contractor is safely executing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities from a Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) perspective.
  • Liaise closely with Contractor’s permit to work coordinator to ensure that SIMOPS activities are conducted safely and that Contractor is effectively and efficiently planning SIMOPS activities.
  • Liaise with offshore Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure that EPC-1 contractor’s pre-commissioning and commissioning SIMOPS issues are being effectively addressed and raises unresolved issues to EPC-1 Brownfield Execution lead when required.
  • Participate in all EPC-1 related offshore SIMOPS meetings..
  • Regularly inspects status of critical process isolations (e.g blinds, locked valves) and control system overrides to ensure they are properly documented and effectively managed.
  • Responsible for enforcing EPC-1 related SIMOPS work practices and procedures and regularly reports on contractor’s compliance with regard to SIMOPS related procedures and execution. Facilitate solutions to SIMOPS related issues working closely with EPC-1 PTW coordinator.
  • Assist EPC-1 team to efficiently plan SIMOPS related work activities.


    Principal Accountabilities:

    • Closely monitors execution of Contractor’s SIMOPS program.
    • Ensures that EPC-1 Contractor and sub-Contractors are conducting SIMOPS work safely and in accordance with all Permits to Work, Contractor’s safe work practice policy with emphasis on Process/Utility isolations (e.g. blinds and locked valves), control system overrides required to support SIMOPS activities, and liaises with Electrical safety officer to ensure electrical isolations associated with SIMOPS are effectively being implemented.
    • Inspects contractor logging of process isolations and ensures that logs are up to date and isolation tags are provided and correct.
    • Supports base project safety team with general project safety issues.
    • Assists contractor’s SIMOPS coordinator to ensure EPC-1 contractor is complying with PTW and process isolation procedures.
    • Regularly inspects status of blinds, chained valves, and control system overrides to ensure they are in compliance with SIMOPS.
    • Regularly inspection work permits associated with SIMOPS activities and stops any work that is not in compliance.
    • Participates in joint SIMOPS inspections, Contractor, Company both at existing platforms and new facilities installed by EPC-1 at Island sites.
    • Facilitates alignment between offshore Operations and Maintenance teams and EPC-1 team including interfaces and tie ins to existing facilities where scope of EPC-1 project.
    • Supports EPC-1 Brownfield Execution Lead with day to day PTW related issues and raises any concerns related to PTW, process isolations, or SIMOPS activities.


    • Requirements

      • 10 years process operations and/or mechanical maintenance experience on offshore facilities including extensive knowledge of existing electrical facilities , including PTW, process isolation and hot work procedures and practices.
      • Must have good interpersonal skills and be a team player.

        Initially one year and renewable further each year. Project’s sustainable life is 25 years which ensures continuous long term employment.

        Rotation-6 weeks ON/ 3weeks OFF.

        Location- Abu Dhabi, UAE

        Tax free Monthly salary paid in US$

        Salary paid in US Dollars for each and every month and paid for rotational/ vacation leave days as well.

        While on Island free accommodation, all meals,utilities, recreational facilities provided.

        Flight tickets for mobilization/demobilization, comprehensive medical insurance, required visas provided.

        Rotational leave ticket NOT provided.

        About the organization

        The development of the reservoirs is considered to be one of the major technical challenges in UAE, The field is the second largest field in the Gulf and the fourth largest field in the World.

        The project aims to increase oil production from the field to 750,000 barrels per day and to sustain this level of production for at least 25 years.
