Job description

SUMMARY

 

The role of the Business Analyst (BA) provides technical expertise and acts as an intermediary between a particular area of the business and the technical experts in order to ensure that project plans are developed and implemented in an effective manner to support key stakeholder objectives.

 

Additionally, the role requires effective communication and team skills, the ability to formulate clear recommendations on technical issues and a drive to achieve within set timelines and objectives.

 

The role may be based in HQ or within a manufacturing plant.

 

SCOPE/ DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

 

Key responsibilities & Tasks:

 

a)             Operational:

•               Provides overall systems support and customer service/Account Management for the Sales & Marketing business area through self, support staff, contractors and external vendors.

•               Identify and implement RB MENA's Sales & Marketing technology projects and work with the business and IS Management to scope, plan resource and budget project activities.

•               Assist the IS Manager & SBA Commercial in helping the business ensure compliance of business application portfolio with functional global best practices.

•               Develop and maintain an understanding of the business application of IS in the Sales & Marketing function through an in-depth understanding of the Sales & Marketing function and its processes.

 

b)             Relationships:

•       Provides IS consultancy and is the point of contact within IS for the designated business area.

•       Liaises with management within the designated business area to prioritise implementation plans and projects.

•       Works with job holders in the business to understand and implement change in business practice based on a defined strategy.

 

c)             Management:

•               Contributes to the preparation of IS budget proposals and estimated project workloads relevant to the business area.

•               Input into the creation and maintenance of an IS strategy for the Sales & Marketing  function, aligned to the business strategy of the function

•               Enhance and further develop the Sales & Marketing systems and align them with RB IS standards.

 

               

d)            Innovation

 

 •       Leverages knowledge of current and future technologies in areas appropriate to RB's business to support innovation and improve productivity.

 •       Leverages knowledge of benchmark processes and practices (by acquiring where necessary through in-house expertise (Internal forums/Lessons Learnt/Project libraries) /external sources (Internet/Publications/External contacts), to drive continuous improvement in productivity without compromising quality.

 

Functional skills:

•               Strong knowledge of cross functional business processes.

•               Strong in project management

•               Commercial awareness

•               Ability to interpret the business IS and functional strategies and to ascertain business requirements and priorities

•               Project management skills, change management and lifecycle planning

•               Good level of knowledge within Sales & Marketing business areas regarding best practice, and leading edge thinking for systems, and processes.

•               Understanding of the business commercial drivers and reporting requirements

•               Familiarity of in-market execution dynamics

 

Technical skills & experience:

•               Experience in leading projects

•               A thorough knowledge of the business application of IS together with a good understanding of the technical aspects (note that in-depth technical knowledge is not required)

•               Advance knowledge on excel and BI tools will be an added advantage to support with reporting and analysis. 

 

Management skills & experience:

•               Entrepreneurial skills in terms of problem solving along with perseverance, tough-mindedness and ability to influence and demonstrate strong team working abilities and commitment.

Educational and language skills:

             Graduate level (Degree or equivalent qualification)

             The business language in Reckitt Benckiser is English, therefore fluency in English is essential

 

 

Required Experience

         Minimum 3 years of business facing IS experience.

Desired Skills and Experience

The Business Analyst must have a high degree of customer service, effective communication and team skills. The role also requires the expertise to solve a range of application and technology issues and the ability to cope with a diverse range of priorities and problems.

The business language in Reckitt Benckiser is English; therefore fluency in English is essential. Fluency in local language(s) advantageous.
