Job description
Drive
and influence business performance through strong partnership and
collaboration with all the business units. Enable the delivery of our
corporate objectives by partnering with the business to identify their
strategic challenges and priorities to delivering them. Initiate; manage
and deliver projects and enhance performance to enable simpler; more
efficient; and practical and productive ways of conducting business. Be
responsible for facilitating change - across people; processes and
systems.
Job Outline:
Drive all business and IT projects in Facilities, making sure that timelines and budgets are met and that value is realised from projects
Report on performance of the department against operational and customer satisfaction measures
Provide quality assurance/ business process improvement recommendations
Support in formulating and documenting future facilities strategy
Identify; recommend and implement business improvement projects and initiatives to deliver the strategic business plans. Collaborate; support and in some cases initiate with the business and relevant business partners to focus on cross functional; high impact; far reaching; and potentially high conflict projects. Fully support performance and productivity enhancements to deliver sustainable growth whilst remaining agile.
Partner with the business and relevant support departments to actively
seek and advise them on improvement opportunities. Proactively manage
relationships with the stakeholders to drive close collaboration and
partnership to rapidly resolve issues and concerns and mitigate risks.
Ensure that post implementation reviews are conducted on high priority
projects to ensure that the intended benefits to the business are
realised.
Key Performance Indicators- Ensure department KPI's
are developed and aligned to the strategic plan. Participate in the
Senior Management meetings of departments and ensure that business
performance is monitored and regularly communicated against agreed
targets. Influence; agree and ensure that there are action plans to
address underperforming KPI's.
Be fully informed of industry
standards/ processes and inspire the adoption of best practice through
continuous challenge of status quo to enable effective management of
growth.
Continuously enhance and create new services through
active participation in the Service Development teams. Ensure project
deliverables are documented; and posted on the Performance Development
site to enable collaboration; sharing and knowledge and skills transfer
across the department. Act as a coach and mentor to the business and key
partners to transfer skills and specialist knowledge in business
improvement methodologies (e.g. LEAN; Six Sigma; consulting
methodologies; Supply Chain; business analytics; simulation; customer
engagement; innovation; etc.); and the implementation and management of
change management techniques.
Encourage the creation and
management of a portfolio of projects and the adoption and application
of strong project governance within specific business departments to
effectively manage; maintain; monitor and report on their projects. Act
as a partner; coach; mentor and guide along with the Project Management
Office team in providing good project governance.
Develop;
coach and motivate the team of professionals in the department in a
selection of tools; techniques and consulting methodologies. Provide
performance related feedback for the team working with the job holder
and suggest development opportunities to address gaps; if any.
Support and enable the delivery of a 2-5 year business strategy and
prioritised strategic plan for the business unit. Maintain; update and
monitor the plan whilst considering the changing needs of the business
and the evolution of the industry.
Drive and support cross
functional initiatives and continually enhance performance through
consultation; collaboration; projects and support activities; including;
but not limited to resource planning (e.g. manpower; equipment; fuel;
etc.); organisational design; supply chain management; customer
engagement; innovation and long term planning.
Ensure the
presence of a Long Term Plan within specific business departments with a
particular focus on the Manpower Plan. Collaborate and partner with the
business; and other relevant business partners (HR; Finance; etc)
during budget discussions to jointly deliver and maintain a 3 year
rolling plan.
Provide recommendations to business managers (
across all operational areas within the group) to plan actions to
optimise operational efficiency through systematically collating and
analysing qualitative and quantitative drivers and available data
impacting operational performance.
Guide and enable relevant
stakeholders across all operational areas by providing business
intelligence summaries and drill into specific operational processes;
highlighting trends / deviations; in order to take corrective measures.
Represent networkwide operations at internal meetings and external
stakeholder meetings; in order to share information on the health of the
emirates operations and agree way forward.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
· Graduate in Industrial Engineering, or graduate level education in scientific/ commercial discipline with postgraduate degree/ diploma in Industrial Engineering / Operations Research.
Minimum 8 years working experience in the fields related to processes and productivity improvement in a reputed organisation, although if the experience is in the airline or airport services industry, and/or in the areas of Performance Development or Consultancy relevant to Airline Industry, then the experience may be relaxed by two years.
Good understanding of Project Management. Business Knowledge of the units responsible for. Understand the working and critical factors for the unit.
People management skills to be able to handle the diverse group of staff and conflict situations in the job situation.
Technical skills Basic knowledge of Innovation techniques; programme management; customer relationship management
Advanced knowledge of process improvement; organisation design; project management; business planning
For PDM -Operational Analysis Advanced knowledge and skills in operational and statistical analysis and thorough knowledge of the operational areas within the EK group.
An excellent communicator; able to translate complex data into simple proposals Be a subject matter expert and have thorough understanding and natural interest in optimizing technology to deliver business information
