Job description
This
is a commissioned sales position responsible for building and
maintaining pre-sales technical relationships with key stakeholders at
regional T1 Service Providers in META. The Technical Account Manager
role provides advanced solution knowledge of Intel’s platforms and
technologies and acts in a trusted advisor capacity to the customer. The
Technical Account Manager (TAM) position builds trusted relationships
across the organisation, including key account executives. The role
requires a thorough understanding of the customers’ business and
technical problems and should demonstrate how these can be solved
through the use of Intel-based solutions. As the lead technical resource
to the customer the role will span both sell to and sell through
responsibilities as well as business transformation objectives. These
goals will be defined by the account team and partners in the business
units to drive awareness and early adoption of new Intel technologies,
platforms and solutions. The role will be responsible for ensuring the
success of our Network Transformation goals with customers to drive
opportunities from proof of concept into commercial deployment. The TAM
is also expected to drive and coordinate support from the Ecosystem,
fellow travellers and Intel product groups (e.g. CCG, NPG, DCSG, SSG,
LAD, SPD) for PoC projects to help win strategic sales opportunities.
Desired Skills and Experience
The
Telco Technical Account Manager should be able to build strong, direct
relationships with senior technical contacts, comprehend Intel
architectures and fellow traveller solution offerings targeted at
service provider infrastructure and represent Intel as a trusted advisor
in solving challenging technical and business problems. This person
should also be self-motivated with an ability to stay current on
emerging industry trends, technologies and issues. Experience in the
Telecom and/or cable industry with strong knowledge of computer and
communications solutions is ideal. Should possess a technology
background and understand service provider NGN Network infrastructure to
handle voice, video and data traffic solutions, both Intel architecture
and competitive based. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Engineering or Communications Engineering would be ideal, preferably
with telco, network, service provider or handset experience. The role
requires an ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Experience in some of following areas would be also beneficial:
- Knowledge of Wireless Modem architecture, service provider certification requirements and industry standards(3GPP).
- Working knowledge of SP Infrastructure networks (Access, Core, Transport) and associated network elements Switches, Routers, Media Gateway, BRAS/GGSN, Security Gateways and their architecture (hardware, software, firmware).
- Understanding of Telco OSS/BSS architectures and Operational processes.
- Working knowledge of Telco service innovation and platform technology introduction/evolution processes
- Working knowledge of SP/NP regulation and resulting impact on network and OSS architecture.
- Working knowledge of open source software.
- Knowledge of IT or Cloud Data Centre infrastructure, including server & storage platforms, Virtualisation and Operating systems. - Knowledge of “Network Functions Virtualisation” principles.
- An understanding of Network Computing product design issues and business relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers or Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer customers would be an added advantage.
Skills:
The candidate should have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to respond to carrier RFI/RFPs. This person must be comfortable working at senior levels within Intel and with service providers. The TAM is responsible for identifying and driving customer requirements & market needs into product plans and programs. Strong business development and customer support skills will be key. An ability to collaborate internally across groups and externally with eco-system partners is valuable.
