Job description

Role Purpose
 
The role of Business partner in the Business Solutions Group of IT department is to act as an interface between business unit and IT. This role is expected to continuously engage with business units to understand the IT requirements, guide the business unit in terms of technology direction and interface with the necessary IT backend teams to get the solutions delivered to business unit in time. The individual will be representing IT in business forums and be an ambassador of IT within the business units. The individual will provide strategic guidance for the business initiatives, manage the stakeholders within the businesses to ensure their satisfaction with IT services, be accountable for the delivery of the various IT services for the businesses.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
Support BU-IT Interface:
  • Define channel related enhancements happening across various market and present the relevant ones to business units for acceptance, on a periodic basis. 
  • Business requirements management – ownership end to end (elucidation, articulation, documentation, scope solution research, solutions option proposal preparation, requirements scope management, User acceptance testing)
  • Business solution assurance – Requirements execution as per business need.
  • Requirement Identification, Market Analysis and channel enhancements on a regular basis
  • Monitor support escalation, project portfolio and requirement prioritization.
  • Establish Service Level Management for channel services with business units with IT service and review the regulatory compliance reports.
  • Contact Business Unit for feedback on all aspects of channel Services.
  • In charge of managing resolution of any recurrent channel Service issues experienced by business units.
  • Ensure IT Performance towards business and communicate performance at regular intervals.
  • Seek input from Business counterparts for strategic initiatives.
  • Elaborate Business case of any major channel enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other Business Partners for cross Business Unit projects.
  • Participate in BU-IT Collaboration meetings.
  • Serve as Counterpart for IT Partner (the single point contact from business unit).
  • Act as a true partner to the business in facilitating and guiding them for needed IT system automation
 
Support business and IT Strategy:
  • Provide strategic guidance on channel initiatives to business through research, market analysis, technology assessments, competitor assessment
  • Ensure definition of channel Strategy of IT is well aligned with business strategy.
  • Provide input to enterprise architects on business roadmap and architecture consistency.
  • Represent "business voice" in IT to ensure alignment between IT and business.
  • Co-ordinate for required resources within IT departments as needed.
 
Business Assurance: The business partner will also be required to perform the following activities from time to time through a team of business analysts. Infrequently, the business partner is expected to do these tasks himself/herself.
  • Conduct Business Solution analysis and develop detailed Business  requirements
  • Develop detailed functional scenarios
  • Provide functionality walkthrough and prepare training material
  • Execute sanity checks of deliverables before UAT delivery
 
Project Management:
  • Track the delivery of IT Requirements and follow up with delivery teams.
  • Managing the execution of Small/ Medium size projects.
Participate in the working committees of strategic projects ensuring the business needs are being met adequately
