Job description

The IT Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of strategic IT initiatives of the Firm as well as the day to day operational activities of help desk support/ end-user computing, network/ server administration and systems/ applications.

On strategic IT initiatives, he/ she will need to assess any shortcomings of the current (and future) state of technology/ IT within the Firm on a regular basis, to propose, drive and execute initiatives/ tools/ technologies that would/ could address these shortcomings. The Firm has regional presence across Asia-Pacific and users who frequently travel across the world.

On operational activities, he/ she will ensure all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and able to diagnose and resolve issues relating to business internet connectivity, WAN technologies, remote access and VPN configuration. In addition, he or she should be able to work with and troubleshoot the Microsoft series of operating systems and server solutions. Systems and applications could include cloud computing applications, video conferencing and communication applications.

The IT Specialist may also from time to time, and on an ad-hoc basis be required to perform extraordinary duties related to IT/ technology for the senior leadership group, as well as the portfolio companies that the Firm supports
Principal Accountabilities :
- Developing, proposing, executing of strategic   IT initiatives
- Development and implementation of company   policies & procedures (including on BYOD and other user-empowered   initiatives)
- Administrative & technical support of IT   activities (end user computing, mobile computing, network, servers,   communication, application, business continuity plans)
- IT developments & best practices

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience  required :
- 3-5 years in IT or Business Systems
- Experience with routing concepts, network and port address translation, cloud computing, server administration
- Experience on self-starting strategic IT initiatives (full lifecycle) including cost-benefit analysis, senior stakeholder management,  solution and vendor evaluations, project/ program management of implementation
- Experience in a geographically diverse user environment
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and operations, business continuity planning, communication technologies, BYOD policies and rollout
Other Skills :
- Ability to listen carefully and extract key issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analysis and judgment skills
- Works well in diverse team environments
- Senior stakeholder management (in a partnership environment)
Qualification required :
- Information Systems or related degree
