Job description

Role synopsis
The regional Finance team is based in Singapore / Malaysia and is responsible for ensuring that an effective system of controls are in place to enable business transactions and results to be recorded, reported and forecast with integrity, transparency and in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will be an important contributor in monitoring and delivering the in-year performance and planning agenda. He / She is expected to be the key support in providing assurance around the tracking of business performance and planning, provide timely MI reporting through SAPBPC platform, including the delivery of the RF / Plan, functional cost reporting and other ad-hoc reporting requirements. Excellent Excel skill is a definite requirement for this position.

Key accountabilities
Collate, review and understand financial results of Auto Lubes A&P performance, assist Regional Reporting Manager in challenging Forecasts & Plan data.

Prepare & consolidate reports necessary for the Month close, Rolling Forecast (RF) / Plan, Management Business Review (MBR), OU bilateral / face to face meetings and other ad-hoc reporting requirements

Ensure all formulae and SAP BPC parameters are correctly set up in the reporting templates

Build in appropriate checks and balances to validate numbers coming through countries and consolidated regional numbers

Review data for completeness, reasonableness and sense checked before management review

Complete checklist and ensure countries’ submissions are appropriately updated in sharedrive

Assist in data analysis and follow-ups on lines of enquiry / investigation

Monitor OU neutral process and ensure all SPU allocated charges are correctly accounted for

Review dashboard data for accuracy and completeness, maintain dashboard access registrar, provide support for enhancement initiatives.

Coordinate with SPU to ensure dashboard is timely and appropriately updated during Month close / RF / Plan / Lubricant Business Management (LBM) cycles

Maintain proper dashboard access registrar for authorized access only

Partner with relevant functions teams to provide necessary support required for dashboard enhancement initiatives

Key support in SAP BPC application and training team members as required.

Acts as Center of Excellence (CoE) to in resolving SAP BPC loading & report writing issues

Conduct trainings and knowledge sharing sessions to raise the level of proficiency within the region

Ensure all SAP BPC reports are FBW compliant

Support performance reporting duties of regional offices (ISPL / TransHO / RegCH) and country (Taiwan).

Load MI data into SAP BPC for Month close / RF / Plan / LBM cycles

Collate, review and analyze data for ad hoc regional performance reports

Support all other MI reporting requirements (e.g. Weekly volume & GM update; BIGS reconciliation; Market Space & Strategic account analysis; ad hoc reports requests)

Prepare weekly volume & Gross Margin update to Regional Leadership Team

Monitor reconciliation status between Business Intelligence Global Standards (BIGS) and FBW / LBM and follow through on all pending action items

Create checks and controls to ensure Market Space / Strategic accounts / Departmental cost / Regional Head Quarters (RHQ) & SPU recharges data are reasonably reviewed for accuracy and completeness during Month close / Forecast / Plan cycles.

Provide necessary support on all other ad hoc MI reporting requests.

Essential Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA).

Essential experience and job requirements
3-4 years post qualifications experience or appropriate business experience.

Desirable criteria & qualifications
Excellent Excel and Powerpoint presentation skills.

Strong knowledge and experience of reporting systems (SAP BPC, Business Objects) and key ERP (JD Edwards) would be added advantages.

Sound financial knowledge and ability to identify opportunities to simplify and streamline processes

Confident in initiating clear communication

Proficient in both written and spoken English

Practical experience with BP’s financial reporting processes and an understanding of how BP’s key business processes work preferred
