Emirates’ has embarked on a program to significantly upgrade the capability of its Passenger Service System (PSS) based on its current MARS/MACS platform. This program will involve technical and functional components and utilize skills from across IT and relevant business areas. The Managers Business Solutions lead teams responsible for conducting the business requirements definition, and the subsequent program related business activities. It is expected that the program will take approximately 4 years to complete.

Manage the business operations/ process design, impact and implementation for all IT/ PSS systems pertinent to Commercial/assigned work stream, working closely with Emirates IT. Serve as senior subject matter expert for assigned functional domain. Manage the IT investment of Commercial/Emirates through Mercator from a business perspective to maximise performance efficiency, return on investment, process analysis and automation translating into tangible productivity increases, cost savings, information system enhancements, user training, business help desk support and active promotion of Commercial Sysems/PSS among the user community, in synch with the business growth, distribution and operational strategy.
Pro-actively participate in achieving the IT and business strategic objectives of Commercial/Emirates, by sourcing, validating and providing required information to develop system enhancement proposals and manage business testing, implementation, user requirements and operation thereafter. In all this the job holder has to closely work with Emirates/IT, and external vendors.

Job Outline
  • Pro-actively lead/seek, validate, document and manage the analysis and requirements of the current and future business technology/functional needs. Interact with business and support unit managers and users across the company, trade and supplier partners, customers and information users to ensure that functionality is maximised and enhancements consistent with business and user requirements and Commercial/Emirates future direction and strategy Manage the user requirements, user testing and business rollout of new generation tour operating/PSS system liaising with Mercator.
  • Pro-actively monitor systems/functional performance to meet commercial demands and minimise negative transaction and information flow implications between customers, trade partners and suppliers. Effectively identify, communicate, coordinate and drive solutions to any system instabilities, with the relevant Mercator managers and staff, within pre-agreed SLA’s and keep all relevant business managers and operationally dependant areas updated on a real time basis.
  • Organise and manage user testing schedules in a timely manner to ensure that delivered modules, patches or enhancements are tested in a qualitative manner, for implementation across the user community. Organise, coordinate and involve a broad spectrum of users (including outstations) to ensure that testing is thorough and all bugs detected and addressed, prior to roll-out and within business timeframes.
  • Manage the development and effective implementation of system usage procedures and ensure that user manuals, prompt cards and on-line help are published and available to all users, so that systems are used uniformly and efficient. Document and ensure all interfaces are tested, implemented and monitored to ensure systems are fully functional. Work closely with Training Manager to provide input on required training materials and e-learning.
  • Manage and provide a systems help desk, which provides effective user assistance, diagnosis, reporting, escalation, solutions (in coordination with Mercator) and closure of user problems and incidents. Ensure all systems and process related issues or enhancement requests are investigated, validated, recorded, tracked and managed effectively.
  • Participate/Lead, document/review, analyse and evaluate business requirement documents produced by IT to ensure that they accurately reflect all business needs, pro-actively interact with user process owners and connected user departments or work areas, to review the same and co-ordinate with IT to address deviations. Also responsible to review and validate all user IT requirements documents for Commercial/Emirates within business timelines. Scope creep must be managed and addressed to ensure project, bug fixes, patches or enhancement deliverables are not compromised.
  • Organise resources to address system operational issues and provide constant support and assistance for all users of the systems, internally and externally. Pro-actively propose, obtain approval and manage enhancements to the systems to meet evolving business processes and strategic distribution requirements.
  • Organise and conduct user forums and act as a medium to obtain, evaluate, validate and submit modification proposals, with cost/revenue and efficiency benefits.
  • Analyze the products, competitors and industry changes to determine the most appropriate product feature sets. Recommend and co-ordinate where necessary competitive analysis, customer needs analysis and market research.
  • Be directly involved in the product design throughout the project lifecycle through to deployment and ongoing management. Lead the document development requirements through the use of user flows and storyboards. Review and provide feedback for user acceptance
  • Envisage, adapt and evolve the business processes for alignment and ensure impacted interface systems are aligned and tested.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Honors Degree
  • 8 years + experience airline commercial/operations experience in a function that is supported by PSS such as Reservations, Inventory and Availability, Fares & Ticketing, Airport Operations or Customer and Loyalty in a related systems/assigned business functional domain area.
  • Proven experience in business systems implementation in one of the above domain areas.
  • Relevant exposure in managing various business IT projects (comprising both large & complex projects).
  • Thorough understanding of airlines automated booking systems, inventory management, departure control, and loyalty systems..
  • Knowledge of leisure and/or airlines automated booking systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of business practices for assigned functional domain.
  • Ability to analyse business requirements as subject matter expert and understand the development life cycle of application systems and work as a team with EGIT staff.
  • Ability to manage a team and plan projects within commercial timelines.
  • Must be able to manage conflicting priorities and make fast and sound decisions.
  • A high degree of analytical and creative thinking.
  • Capable of obtaining support from peer managers, in terms of information or additional resources.

Influence; agree and ensure that there are action plans to address underperforming KPI's.
  • Be fully informed of industry standards/ processes and inspire the adoption of best practice through continuous challenge of status quo to enable effective management of growth.
  • Continuously enhance and create new services through active participation in the Service Development teams. Ensure project deliverables are documented; and posted on the Performance Development site to enable collaboration; sharing and knowledge and skills transfer across the department. Act as a coach and mentor to the business and key partners to transfer skills and specialist knowledge in business improvement methodologies (e.g. LEAN; Six Sigma; consulting methodologies; Supply Chain; business analytics; simulation; customer engagement; innovation; etc.); and the implementation and management of change management techniques.

  • Qualifications & Experience

    Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
    · Graduate in Industrial Engineering, or graduate level education in scientific/ commercial discipline with postgraduate degree/ diploma in Industrial Engineering / Operations Research.
    Minimum 8 years working experience in the fields related to processes and productivity improvement in a reputed organisation, although if the experience is in the airline or airport services industry, and/or in the areas of Performance Development or Consultancy relevant to Airline Industry, then the experience may be relaxed by two years.
    Good understanding of Project Management. Business Knowledge of the units responsible for. Understand the working and critical factors for the unit.
    People management skills to be able to handle the diverse group of staff and conflict situations in the job situation.
    Technical skills Basic knowledge of Innovation techniques; programme management; customer relationship management
    Advanced knowledge of process improvement; organisation design; project management; business planning
    For PDM -Operational Analysis Advanced knowledge and skills in operational and statistical analysis and thorough knowledge of the operational areas within the EK group.

    Job Accountabilities:
    • Accountable for the delivery of in-flight experience by cabin crew; including onboard service, safety, language capability and grooming, thus ensuring the corporate image of Emirates Airlines is represented consistently on every emirates flight
    • To develop, agree and implement a strategy for improving the management and performance of the cabin crew team which compromises of 60 managers. To cascade the delivery of plans through the creation of a strong performance based culture at all levels of Cabin Crew and Management communities, ensuring that priorities, targets and accountabilities are defined, measured and achieved. To ensure performance measurements are established, communicated prioritized and implemented for the Cabin Crew Managers, Cabin Crew Service Centre and Cabin Crew Operations.
    • Set and drive the standards for a superior internal communication with crew. Accountability includes, increasing organisational awareness and feeling of belonging through mediums such as the crew Portal, increased integration of crew with management or ground based teams, proactive use of the Crew Briefing facilities, personalised admin and query handling service through the service centre, increased frequency of interaction with line managers, increased recognition of good performance.
    • Review and enhance the Cabin Crew Management organisation, processes and people. Establish the touch points between the various units and establish synergies in policies and practices. Develop and maintain a system for service feedback enabling crew to provide feedback for improvement. Ensure ongoing and regular teamwork.
    • Continually review and develop the use of latest technology platforms in enabling real time two-way crew engagement for motivation and feedback.
    • Partner SVPCCT in creating effective and comprehensive mechanisms to support crew performance/ training & development plans and National Development (where appropriate) to continually meet the changing pace and product standard of Service Delivery.
    • In conjunction with SVPSDS and SVPCCT, critically evaluate all incidents and reasons for service failure, poor incident handling or industrial injuries. Develop remedial plans and drive management action.
    • Lead the teams in forging close working relationship with partner departments. Ensure initiatives are shared and developed and synergies created wherever possible to ensure consistent application and standards.
    • Ensure GCAA, International and EK standards are consistently maintained onboard. In conjunction with other stake holders, critically evaluate all incidents and reasons for service failure, poor emergency handling or industrial injuries. Identify where changes in policy, performance, or product are required. Where performance related, ensure cabin crew management teams take timely remedial action.
    • Enable close working relationships within the Cabin Crew Management teams, driving awareness, buy in and contribution to the shared concept of service excellence and consistent application of policies and procedures through constant teamwork.     Job Outline:

Relevant issues include- selection, performance management, remuneration, job evaluation.
    • Provide support and advice to business projects and organisational change programmes (including change management and communications) within the relevant business area, actively liaising with other support managers and HR departments (such as Performance Development, Finance, Training, National Recruitment and Development, Medical and Learning and Development etc.)
    • Pro-actively support the implementation of performance management within the business area and provide guidance to managers in the continued development of staff. Advise and guide managers in managing and growing talent including, objective setting, use of competencies, development plans, coaching and feedback.
    • Support senior management team in forecasting and organising resource requirements and manpower budgets. Advise managers in applying sound and appropriate recruitment and selection practices, and training and development plans/programmes. Support colleagues in corporate recruitment and training functions in the delivery of services suitable for the relevant business area.
    • Partner with client department and UAE National recruitment for the retention of UAE Nationals, supporting the Line in creating a work environment which attracts and retains Nationals and ensuring the department achieves set targets on National component of total workforce.
    • Contribute to corporate HR initiatives such as the development of new systems, and the introduction of new HR tools, services, or benefits. Support the development and implementation of HR and corporate policy/processes by researching and analysing data, facilitating management buy-in, through management awareness and staff communication.
    • Review and initiate process improvements to improve productivity and add value whilst improving the overall employee experience.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the HR Specialist team by coaching and developing their professional knowledge and competence. Ensure individual development needs are identified and development plans progressed. This includes actively supporting rotations within the department.
    • Responsible for agreeing the annual plan with the customer department after careful consideration of people related objectives, KPIS and the trends identified through focus groups and climate surveys.

    • Please note: The job holder will be required to support on business critical requirements after office hours/during weekends. We are currently looking for 1 HRM candidate for Flight Operations. The selection process will be held for HR Manager level.

      Qualifications & Experience
      • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
      • A recognised member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (UK or other national equivalent)
      • A minimum of 8+ years of generalist experience in HR, with experience in a middle management role, preferably in a large multinational organisation.
      • Professional experience of performance management, change management, organisation design, job evaluations, HR systems and employee engagement.
      • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with particular emphasis on being able to influence outside area of direct reporting.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is a high level of report writing skills.

    The purpose of this role is principally to provide legal advice and support to various departments; associated companies and joint ventures of Emirates; dnata and dnata World Travel; both in Dubai and internationally; as allocated.
    In this role you will be involved in a broad range of corporate and commercial legal matters; potentially ranging from drafting and negotiating commercial agreements; to advising on laws and regulations; dealing with disputes and litigation and the establishment of joint ventures and corporate transactions.  An important aspect of this role will involve advising on global aviation-related regulations, including relevant consumer protection legislation, and the management of disputes.  Previous experience in these fields will therefore be a significant advantage. 
    You should be comfortable in working autonomously for internal clients within the Emirates Group, including with senior management of various divisions and departments.  A strong customer service attitude is a must.  It is expected that you will become a subject matter expert in one or more specified areas of legal work or legal knowledge.   
    As a Legal Adviser; you will also have responsibility to assist the designated Vice President — Legal and Senior Vice President – Legal in the arrangement; co-ordination; monitoring and control of legal advice locally procured and provided at outstations.
    The Legal Adviser will also work with other Legal Advisers (including potentially in a supervised or supervisory role) and report to the designated Vice President — Legal or Senior Vice President – Legal.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • You must be a Qualified Lawyer (admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction).
    • Hold a current practising certificate (or equivalent membership of recognised professional law body)
    • 4-8 years post qualification experience; preferred in an in-house legal department of a mid to large size corporation or in private practice for a reputable law firm.
    • Broad corporate and commercial legal experience required.
    • Previous experience in aviation laws and regulations will be a significant advantage.

    Job Accountabilities:
    • Directly accountable for the achievement of AA's revenue targets and profitability, as well as for the budgeting and effective utilisation of overhead expenses, manpower resources and capital expenditure.
    • Establish and manage contacts at the highest levels within worldwide tourism sectors and market segments in order to develop the UAE and the Gulf region as a destination thus increasing AA's market share, turnover and profit. Contact management includes networking with local authorities such as tourism boards and immigration and customs in order to maintain AA's participation and contribution to any development at the destination affecting the tourism industry
    • Identify new markets and sources of business that present additional revenue earning opportunities and establish sales and Marketing plans with the business development units.
    • Strategic involvement:
      Implement AA's short and medium term strategy designed in liaison with the Senior Vice President in order to meet volume, revenue and profit targets through the selection of markets and market segments and through proactive product development.

      Develop business cases as necessary to capitalise on opportunities leading to incremental revenue and/or cost reduction.

      Participate in the definition of AA's long term strategy, in particular the planning of manpower and material resources to ensure sustainable revenue growth.

    • Develop and implement new operating standards for all of AA's products and services with an emphasis on safety for staff and customers and ensuring high quality service delivery at all levels.
    • Identify the short and medium-term requirements of tour operators, meeting-incentives & events organisers, cruise lines and local point of sales and airline land products at destination. Anticipate travel trends to enable AA to direct the growth of tourism in the destination and direct the development of products to meet those requirements and trends.
    • Monitor the productivity and performance of AA's various units: Reservations, Contracting, In-Resort Services, Transport and Safaris, Meeting-Incentives & Events, Operations and the cruise section. Ensuring that : (1) staff performance and motivation/morale are consistent with set standards (2) costs are kept and new IT infrastructure is reviewed and developed in line with market development and technical needs.
    • Directly responsible for the control of AA's exposure on accounts receivable, ensuring minimum financial risk on debt collection.
    • Travel extensively to negotiate and sell the destination and AA's services to prospective tour operators and meeting-incentive and events organisers in world-wide markets.
    • Responsible for AA's above and below-the-line advertising concepts and expenditure.
    Qualifications & Experience
    • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a business related discipline.
    • 12 years experience of destination management with a number of these in a senior management role
    • In-depth knowledge of the functioning of all units within a destination management company and the tour operating industry
    • Knowledge of an established network of contacts within the tourism and Meetings, Incentives & Events industries
