BREAKING NEWS: US employers added 312,000 jobs in December

The Labor Department reports the U.S. economy added 312,000 jobs in December, blowing away expectations for 177,000 jobs. The unemployment rate rose to 3.9 percent. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate rose to 63.1 percent.
